"The flying is very simple, very reassuring, and all its features make me want to fly more often."

Taking off

Simplified flying

Designed and developed to be quick to master, ANAFI has been designed for implementation by even the most novice pilots. The flying of the aircraft is designed to be intuitive and simplified enabling scientists from nature reserves to quickly deploy it after purchase. Likewise, the FreeFlight 6 control interface is easy to use and provides access to all of the features in no time.

Taking a closer look

ANAFI’s x3 zoom gives you detailed shots and gets you up close and personal with wildlife. This also ensures the discretion of the aircraft, meaning that it can distance itself from the animals while collecting precise images. The option to zoom in rather than getting close to the fauna therefore avoids disturbing the wild life and preserves the natural environment. By using ANAFI, animal life is respected and missions are carried out safely.

Thanks to the optical sensors, you can observe complex elements and get closer to the living things inhabiting your nature reserve.

A wide range of features

From FreeFlight 6, access a wide range of features in a few moments allowing you take your observation mission even further. This means that you can define a flight plan directly from the map, an advantage when you are in an environment similar to nature reserves, where the harmonious landscape does not provide any distinguishing features for finding your bearings. The Touch & Fly and Cameraman modes can also be useful when you want to obtain precise and detailed shots of certain elements.

Overcoming ground constraints

ANAFI can take off from the ground as well as from a hand. This feature is an important one in the observation of wildlife, especially when the setting is in Africa. Here, the ground of the reserves often consists of sand and small rocky elements which have the capacity to damage the drone or be detrimental to the good visibility of the camera in the event of the sand being lifted up by the wind produced by the propellers.

Thanks to the take-off by hand, the drone takes off in a matter of seconds without being subjected to the risks caused by the elements on the ground.

Suitable for hot weather

ANAFI has been designed for implementation across six continents and has therefore a high resistance to extreme temperatures. This is a critical element for the conduct of operations on the African continent, in a semi-desert environment where the temperature quickly reaches high levels.

ANAFI is very resistant to hot weather and can be deployed even in temperatures approaching 50 degrees.

Safety first

Using ANAFI to conduct wildlife observation missions improves safety. On the one hand, the teams of scientists and the personnel at the reserve do not find themselves exposed to certain dangerous animals or behaviours that are difficult to predict. The collection of information is all the more precise as the drone makes it possible to observe the animal without human intervention disturbing it. On the other hand, ANAFI is designed to carry out missions in complete safety. The drone is resistant and, thanks to its many features, the risk of falling or collision with animals is zero when the flight plan is set beforehand. This enables the flight altitude and the camera angle to be defined in order to carry out remote missions.

Exploring

Observing the invisible

Thanks to ANAFI Thermal's thermal camera, scenes can be observed from a new angle. A sensor which is particularly useful for observing night scenes. Thanks to their thermal signature, animals are easily spotted and their behaviour can then be studied. Likewise, it becomes easier to spot a human presence without the need to send patrols to monitor the site. The darkness of the night no longer poses a problem when ensuring the safety and safeguarding of animals.

Locating the dangers

The presence of poachers is a real challenge for managers of nature reserves. Organised and often operating at night, poachers represent a real danger for the animals but also for the officers responsible for monitoring the site. The use of ANAFI Thermal's thermal sensor provides the means for a direct response to this need for the location and identification of an illegal presence. Poachers can easily be spotted and located. It is then possible to send an operational team quickly to the site, in order to stop them.

Studying behaviours

Thanks to its combination of optical sensors, ANAFI is your best companion for aerial observation. ANAFI, a veritable remote eye for nature reserve managers, enables life within the reserve to be studied repeatedly and with precision. With 25 minutes of battery life, long observation missions can be carried out and crucial data collected for scientists. This observation is carried out with complete discretion and therefore guarantees that the behaviour of the animals is not disturbed therefore guaranteeing undistorted results.

Monitoring nocturnal life

In addition to enhancing site security, ANAFI Thermal also enables observation missions in the night environment. Studying the behaviour of animals at night is still an important area of research because for a long time the optical means enabling them to be observed did not necessarily allow this type of mission to be carried out at night.

In addition, it is often the case that animals are more prone to injuring themselves at night. By observing their behaviour and their interaction with the rest of the fauna, we can understand how these injuries occur.

Finally, let's not forget the nocturnal fauna: with the Thermal sensor it then becomes possible to identify the presence of animals and observe nocturnal life in nature reserves.

Simplifying

Obtaining aerial views

Unlike the deployment of human teams in the field, ANAFI provides aerial views and general overviews. This therefore provides an opportunity to observe the movements, behaviours and interactions of animals with precision. The freedom of movement offered by ANAFI, coupled with its battery life, enable recurring missions to be carried out and models of behavioural analyses established, in turn enabling for example, predictive elements to be identified resulting in a more in-depth understanding of animals.

Acting discreetly

The noise discretion of ANAFI coupled with the x3 zoom enables the movement of wildlife to be observed with complete discretion. This is a key element for minimising the disturbance of animals and therefore observing them without being seen. This guarantees that human presence will not impact the behaviour of animals.

A less expensive system

Over the long term, ANAFI proves to be much less costly than all traditional resources. ANAFI therefore represents one single investment for unlimited use: offering unbeatable value for money.

The observation is carried out aerially and does not require a pick-up to be mobilised which in turn consumes petrol and is also a pollutant. Meaning it is now possible to save money and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Responsive technology

Using ANAFI for observation and surveillance gives nature reserve managers a far greater responsiveness. The data transmitted in real time to the control station, and therefore to the smartphone or tablet used for flying, means that extremely rapid interventions are possible if an element detected on the image seems to indicate that this is necessary. For example, in case of a break-in by poachers, once detected, a team can quickly be sent on site while the drone continues to follow them and indicate their position.

Similarly, if necessary, ANAFI can take off in a few seconds and then quickly reach the area of interest requiring means of observation.

Reducing human risks

By deploying ANAFI, particularly for surveillance missions, the risks for reserve personnel and the number of patrol officers on the ground are both reduced. Human resources are then concentrated on the main activities and can take action only when necessary. Patrols can now be led by ANAFI, using recurrent missions and the definition of flight plans.
