ANAFI Thermal is a compact and easily deployable drone that enables firefighters to carry out reconnaissance missions.

Testimonial

"The ability to instantly switch from a day camera to an infrared camera is essential for a real-time analysis of aerial views."

Cmdt Eric Rodriguez,
SDIS 13 Head of Intelligence and Innovation

Observing

Operational situation

Deployed in a few seconds, ANAFI Thermal provides a quick aerial view of the operational situation.

During an emergency response in the event of a fire (forest, vegetation, industrial), ANAFI Thermal allows you to observe a perimeter and determine the areas of interest.

Fighting fires

The use of ANAFI's Thermal camera makes it possible to observe certain thermographic situations. Then hot spots can be identified. The use of the drone is particularly useful for the wetting phases, enabling the fire to be controlled and contained. By accessing an aerial view of the area, it can then be verified that all of the easily flammable elements have been wetted. ANAFI ultimately becomes a tool for controlled burn assignments, carried out before the high-risk seasons to prevent the spread of fire. The thermographic camera is used to observe the behaviour of the fire and its virulence and to identify the spaces to be burned.

Observing a perimeter

By defining an operations area, ANAFI can carry out an observation mission. The retransmission of images in real time to a tablet or smartphone makes it possible to determine the means to be deployed, the risks inherent in the area and to assess the situation that the firefighters will have to face.

Determining areas of interest

By flying over the operations perimeter, the drone operator can identify areas of interest where resources will have to be concentrated. The use of the thermographic sensor during night operations provides support to the emergency services in their mission and enriches knowledge of the tactical situation.

Calibrating

Determining the resources

The observation of the operational situation thanks to the drone's electro-optical camera enables the operational situation to be better assessed.

Detecting a hot spot

Observation of the situation using the thermographic camera makes it possible to detect heat sources. By locating the hot spot after a fire has been extinguished it is possible to prevent fires restarting, by deploying resources at sensitive points.

Studying an intervention area

The drone provides a global view of the situation and observes the spread of fire. The most virulent outbreaks can be identified in order to be able to concentrate the effort of the firefighters.

In a hilly area, the drone, as a firefighter's tool, can be deployed quickly, providing an aerial view of the situation. At night, ANAFI Thermal can be used to locate any victims who may be around the incident scene. It then becomes a perfect companion for peripheral reconnaissance.

Prioritising actions

The aerial view and the recognition of the area enabled by using ANAFI play a role in the analysis of the operations perimeter and estimating the extent of the damage. From the analysis of the video the actions to be carried out can be prioritised.

In the event of a fire, it is possible to identify the outbreaks and therefore deploy the response resources across these crucial points.

Chemical or radiological risks

Upstream of the operation, ANAFI can be deployed to carry out reconnaissance of the area and can identify the areas at risk in order to brief the teams. In order to avoid overexposure of the personnel, sending the drone enables monitoring of the operation and the evolution of response resources.

Discern

Identify risk areas

Aerial observation of the operational area enables any potential complexities that may arise to be identified. The risks and dangers linked to the operational environment are more easily identifiable, even during the operation, thanks to the rapid deployment of the drone (under three seconds).

Free yourself from visual clutter

ANAFI Thermal acts as a remote eye when fighting fires. This means that the thermographic sensor is able to detect outbreaks and free itself from visual pollution caused by smoke emissions. Action can then be prioritised by determining the most crucial points.

Removing doubt

Before deploying resources, a flyover of the operational zone is able to ensure the removal of doubt. The use of ANAFI therefore enables security forces to go faster, carry out better reconnaissance of the perimeter and avoid the over-exposure of personnel.
