Flight Recorder for Parrot AR.Drone 2.0
Flying high – very high – is now a reality with the AR.Drone 2.0. When you reach an altitude of 50 or even 100 metres, the AR.Drone 2.0 becomes increasingly small to the eye. Stabilisation therefore becomes essential for controlling the drone. The already very reliable stabilisation is improved even further thanks to the GPS receiver, which calculates the position of your AR.Drone in the air and prevents it from drifting in the wind.
“Return home” mode
Returning the AR.Drone 2.0 to its take-off point is now a breeze thanks to this new feature. Simply press the corresponding button, and the AR.Drone 2.0 independently guides itself in a straight line to its take-off point.
View your flights in 3D on the AR.Drone Academy map
With the Flight Recorder, your flight data (altitude, speed, etc.) is enhanced with the GPS location. By signing up for AR.Drone Academy, you gain access to all your flights. Thanks to the GPS receiver, you can review their paths in 3D and their positions on the AR.Drone Academy map.
An accessory for developers
The two generations of the AR.Drone have already attracted numerous developers who have created augmented reality games, remote control applications, and even new ways of flying. The GPS receiver now gives users the chance for even more fun. The QGround Control software, available for Windows/Linux/MAC, will allow them to program a flight plan, among other activities.
A new flying mode: on-demand flying
This new flying mode allows you to choose the destination of your AR.Drone 2.0. A new control interface allows you to click on a geographical map to determine the destination of your AR.Drone 2.0. (within the limit of the Wi-Fi connection). Requires an Internet connection to load the map.
