Before you begin, make sure you have the latest software update on your Parrot MKi9200. To do so, press the jog wheel and select Settings > Advanced settings > Information. You must have the same version than the one indicated in the Latest available version section. If it is not the case, update your Parrot MKi9100 using the Parrot Software Update Tool
Installation
Why does the sound of the hands-free system only come through the vehicle's front speakers?
It is normal for the sound of telephone conversations to be played only through the vehicle’s two front speakers. This is the basic operating mode.
Should this occur with audio streaming or with USB/iPhone/iPod/SD reading, please check that your car radio is set up for all four of the vehicle’s speakers. This set-up is shown on the radio’s diagram. Consult the user manual for more information.
The presence of an amplifier in the vehicle may also be the cause of this problem. A line-in assembly may solve the problem.

Is it possible to use the steering wheel controls in my vehicle to control my hands-free system?
Yes. The Parrot Unika lets you relay your vehicle's steering-wheel commands to your Parrot hands-free kit. With this interface you can make phone calls and, depending on your vehicle model, control the music function using the controls at your steering wheel.

The remote control of my Parrot MKi9200 does not seem to be working.
Linking of the remote control
If, when using the Parrot MKi for the first time, the remote control does not seem to be linked to the electronic box, press the red button several times while holding down the Play and green buttons.
This should be done within 30 seconds of starting your vehicle until the Parrot MKi announces "Pairing remote control"
Battery replacement
A CR2032 battery should last about 1 year.
Please note, if you place the remote control in your pocket or handbag when leaving your vehicle, the battery is at risk of running down is a button is inadvertently pushed and held down.
Should it be necessary to replace the battery (ref: only 3V CR2032), please ensure that the battery is correctly positioned before being inserted into the remote control.
The screen does not light up when I start up
The Parrot MKi9200 has not been correctly installed. Check the installation or have it checked.

Installation
An installation step for the Parrot MKi9200 has not been correctly carried out: the orange wire is not connected to a switched (ignition) 12V. Check the installation or have it checked.
This problem occurs frequently on certain vehicles, but is very easy to solve: This operation simply entails reversing the two fuse holders of the red and orange wires located on the Parrot wiring (unscrew the fuse holders and cross the wires).
How can I change the screen background of my Parrot MKi9200 ?
You have the option to customise the screen background of your Parrot MKi9200. To do this you have to use an image in .jpg format (optimum dimensions: 320px × 240px). What do the icons at the top of the Parrot MKi9200 screen mean?
The and icons relate to the battery charge level and the status of the network for the telephone connected to the Parrot MKi9200. Whether these icons are present or not depends on which telephone model you have.
The icon indicates that synchronisation of the directory is in progress.
The icon indicates that your device is in night mode (the screen is dimmer). To exit night mode, press the knob for 2 seconds.
The icons on the top left show the peripherals connected to the Parrot MKi9200. The highlighted icon shows which audio source is being used.

I am unable to link my telephone with the Parrot MKi9200
Compatibility

Visibility of the MKi9200
Before linking your telephone with the Parrot MKi9200, make sure that your MKi9200 is set-up for visibility by all Bluetooth devices. To do this, press the knob and select Settings > Bluetooth > Visibility, then ensure that the option has been selected. If not, select by pressing the knob. This option is activated by default.
PIN code
Enter “0000” on your telephone when asked to do so and confirm.
Reinitialisation
On the kit, go to the “Settings / Advanced Settings” menu and select the “Reset Factory Settings” option.
On your telephone, erase the Parrot system from the list of Bluetooth peripherals.
Repeat the linking procedure for the 2 devices.
The Parrot MKi9200 displays “Memory full” when I attempt to link my telephone
Number of linked devices
You can link up to 10 devices on the Parrot MKi9200.
If you link an eleventh phone, the kit displays “memory full” You then have to delete one of the linked telephones.
To do this:
Press the knob and select Settings > Bluetooth > Linked devices.
Select the telephone(s) that you no longer need.
Select Delete.
Can you connect more than one telephone simultaneously to the Parrot MKi9200?
It is not possible to connect 2 telephones simultaneously to the Parrot MKi9200. However you can change over from one paired telephone to another very simply. To do this, press and hold the red button for 2 seconds, then select the telephone you want to connect to.
I can’t find my contacts in the Parrot MKi9200’s memory
Automatic synchronisation
Consult our compatibility page to check whether your telephone allows automatic synchronisation of your contacts.
If this is not the case you will most often be able to send them manually from the telephone: consult the “Send contacts via Bluetooth” category.
Storage location of contacts
Only the contacts saved in the telephone's memory are synchronised in the MKi9200 memory. If your contacts are saved to your SIM card, you have to transfer these contacts to the phone memory. Consult your telephone’s user manual for more information.
Numbers of contacts
Automatic synchronisation is limited to 2,000 contacts per linked telephone and 8,000 contacts for all linked telephones
Sending contacts manually
If your telephone does not support automatic synchronisation, use the “Send via Bluetooth” functionality to manually send your telephone's contacts to the Parrot MKi9200 via the Bluetooth application.
To do this:
Press the knob and select the option Telephone > Receive contacts.
Consult your telephone's user manual for the procedure of sending contacts via Bluetooth.
The people on the other end can't hear me properly
Position of the microphone
Make sure that the microphone is installed as close as possible to the user's head. The ideal distance is 60cm. Preferably install the microphone close to the rear-view mirror.
Turn the microphone to the user’s mouth.
Make sure that the microphone is not exposed to air from the vents.
Do not run the microphone cable through the heating, ventilation or air conditioning systems or in front of the side airbags.
Outside noise detection option
To ensure clear communication, the Parrot MKi9200 is able to reduce noise from outside the vehicle (e.g.: passing motorbikes, trucks, sirens), especially when the windows are open.
To adjust this setting, press the knob and select Settings > Audio > lateral noise detection. Activate or deactivate the option by pressing the knob.
WARNING: Before activating the Lateral noise detection option, make sure that your double microphone is correctly positioned and turned towards the driver. This avoids the driver’s voice also being dampened as if it were an outside noise.

I cannot hear the person on the other end clearly
Setting
You may set the sound volume during a call by turning the dial to the desired volume level. This level will be saved for the next call.
I am unable to make a call using the voice recognition function
Synchronisation of contacts
Check that the contact that you wish to call using the voice recognition application does indeed appear in the Parrot MKi9200’s directory.
Name/Surname order
Depending on the model of telephone, contacts may be memorised either as "Name – Surname” or as “Surname – Name”. Make sure that your pronunciation of the contact uses the same order as the directory.
Position of the microphone
Make sure that the microphone is installed as close as possible to the user's head. The ideal distance is 60cm. Preferably install the microphone close to the rear-view mirror.
Turn the microphone to the user’s mouth.
Make sure that the microphone is not exposed to air from the vents.

Synchronisation of the contacts with photos
This function depends on the telephone and its synchronisation with the Parrot MKi9200.
However, you have the option of sending your photos manually.
To do this, press the knob and select "Telephone > Contacts Management > Select contact > Picture > Add Picture".
Consult your telephone's user manual for the procedure of sending photos via Object Push.
Music function
Some problems may occur if the iPod / USB device is al
ready connected to the Parrot MKi9200 before you turn on the ignition. Connect the iPod / USB device once the ignition
is turned on.
General
There is no sound from my vehicle’s loudspeakers, regardless of the source used.
Mute on Streaming option
Check that the Mute on Streaming option is selected.
To do this, press the knob and select Settings > Audio > Mute on Streaming.
Installation
Check the installation, in particular the MKi 9200's Mute cables.
Consult the installation F.A.Q for more information.
The sound is only coming through 2 speakers
Telephony function
This is normal for the telephony function.
Music function
This is probably due to an installation problem.
Check that your car radio is set up for all 4 speakers in the vehicle.
To do this, check your radio’s electrical diagram.
The presence of an amplifier may also be the cause of this problem.

What is the “Mute on Streaming” option?
Once you have deactivated this option, the telephony will be directed to the ISO outputs and the streaming to the Line outputs.
This allows you to have music on the AUX source of your car radio. When using streaming, the mute application on your system will not be activated.
iPod / iPhone
The message “iPod not supported” appears when I connect my iPod to the Parrot MKi9200

Rebooting the iPod
iPod re-initialisation procedure Press Menu and the centre button simultaneously until the iPod reboots. This procedure will not erase any of your data.
Rebooting the iPhone
iPhone re-initialisation procedure Press the On/Off button and the Home button simultaneously until the iPhone reboots. Do not touch the screen when the message “Slide to shutdown” appears. This procedure will not erase any of your data.
Updating an iPod
Make sure that your iPod is updated. If not, please update via iTunes.
The settings on the Random and Repeat options are not saved on the Parrot MKi9200 each time, I reconnect my iPod
This is normal: with each connection, the settings of the iPod/iPhone take preference. Settings made on the MKi9200 are only valid for one use (start-up / shut-off).
Does the iPod/iPhone begin charging when I connect it to the Parrot MKi9200?
Yes, while the system is operational.
USB
What USB key models are supported? Are there restrictions in terms of capacity ?
The MKi9200 is compatible with the majority of USB keys. There is no restriction in terms of capacity of USB keys.
What should the format of my audio files on my USB device be in order for them to be read by the MKi9200?
Only MP3 (Mpeg 1 Layer3) or WMA formats are supported.
When I connect my iPhone and a USB device to the MKi9200, I can’t access the content on the USB device
This is normal: The iPhone takes priority. Disconnect your iPhone to access the content on the USB device.
Certain songs on my USB flash drive are not detected by the Parrot MKi9200/The message "no audio file" appears
This problem occurs if you have audio files with too high a sampling rate on your USB flash drive. Songs encoded without loss of audio quality cannot be read/detected by the Parrot MKi9200.
SD Card
What SD card models are supported? Are there restrictions in terms of capacity?
The Parrot MKi9200 is compatible with the majority of SD cards, as well as any other format on SD adaptor. There is no restriction in terms of capacity of SD cards.
How do I link the album covers of the music playing?
First of all, check that this image is present in the album tags. If not, simply add the corresponding image to the album in the file containing the album in the JPEG format (< 1Mb). If there are several images in the file, the image entitled Cover.jpg will be displayed by preference.
What should the format of my audio files on my SD card be in order for them to be read by the Parrot MKi9200?

Bluetooth

Check that your Bluetooth audio reader supports the A2DP profile (Bluetooth profile that allows sending of music). Note: the iPhone does not support this profile. Consult the Compatibility page for more information.
Updating
How can I update my hands-free system?
You must always use the “Parrot Software Update Tool” (PSUT), available here.
Then consult the updating procedure.
This updating procedure only works with Windows XP, Vista systems (not MAC, Linux or Vista 32 systems).
I have a computer with a MAC or LINUX operating system. Can I update my kit?
Yes. However, the “Parrot Software Update Tool” (PSUT) is not compatible with these operating systems: You need to make a manual copy of the updating file on your USB device. Consult the updating procedure.
When connecting the USB support to the PC, the message "There is not enough space" appears
The message indicates that the USB device’s memory is full and appears as soon as the USB device is connected. Check that your USB device has enough space available for the updating file. Otherwise, try to format the USB device in the FAT32 mode. Right click on the peripheral that corresponds to the USB device and "format" In the “File system” drop-down list, FAT32 is usually set by default and you can start the formatting.
If this does not solve the problem, try again with another USB device, since this one does not seem to be compatible.
When connecting the USB device, the update does not start
Try to make a manual copy of the updating file on your USB device. Check the spelling of the filename (MKi9200.plf) and of the directory containing it (ParrotUp). Consult the updating procedure.
