Parrot's environmental policy

The protection of the environment is a major challenge. A company such as Parrot was not specifically founded to resolve today's ecological issues or promote partisan interests. However, it is important to adopt the best possible conduct. Parrot's view is that company development must take account of the pollution created by its industrial activities; such pollution must be restricted and kept under control.

Parrot RecyclingTo pollute less, the company must start by consuming less and by designing products efficiently. We are looking to reduce packaging dimensions - fewer raw materials for packaging means less transport. We are also striving to cut down on paper by producing shorter user guides and offering the service through our website. Where possible, recycled raw materials are used for packaging and user documentation.

Parrot Battery RecyclingReducing pollution is also an individual and collective process at Parrot's sites: recycling paper and plastic, and collecting batteries and printed circuit boards. We are going to set up selective sorting for our waste, streamline the use of energy in our offices, heating and air conditioning, use recycled paper for our printers and switch off computers when employees leave their desk.

Finally, reducing pollution involves bringing Parrot's products into compliance with national and international pollution control measures, complying with product design standards, training Parrot's engineers on design methodology, marking recyclable parts with ad hoc logos, and informing our customers on the different recycling possibilities for our products at the end of their life.

Parrot EarthOur business: computing and consumer electronics have a key role to play in reducing pollution. Bringing LED lighting into widespread use and using in-vehicle computers to control engine speed are applications that reduce pollution. Tomorrow's world will see many more innovations from the high tech industry. In everyday life and for our profession, Parrot has to show the way.
