Topic: iPhone sounds like underwater

I have been using the Parrot MK6100 for 6 months with a Blackberry 8830.  And, sound quality was pretty good on both ends.  I just purchased an iPhone and all works great except I sound like I am underwater when using the Parrot MK6100.  That is how I sound to all I am talking to, they sound fine.

Anyone else have this problem.  I have messaged support to see what they say.

Thanks,

Marilyn

I too am having outgoing call audio issues with my iPhone and the MK6100.  The people who I talk to on the other end describe my voice as having a "robotic" tone or sound to it.  I can hear them fine loud and clear, but its on their end is where the problem is.  I emailed Parrot support as well describing my issue, but have you heard anything back from them Marilyn?

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

Yes I have heard back from them.  They had me go back to version 1.02 which they had to send me as it is no longer available to download.  I had my tech guy at work install via bluetooth from his laptop for me and all works great now.  Solved the problem wonderfully.  Tech support took couple of days to get back to me but they were very responsive.  This is something you can have a dealer install if your are not tech savy.

Marilyn, glad to hear that its working for you!  I guess I'll just hang tight for Parrot to get back to me with the version 1.02 file.  Hopefully they're working on getting a more accessible update for other iPhone users out there who are having the same issue.  Thanks for your prompt response!  Cheers!

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

Same issue with iPhone 3G and MK6100.  Horrible sound and really frustrated thinking it was the install vs. the software.  I will call support and try the 1.02 version of software and hopefully that works.

Hello "mabell"

Would you please kindly share the firmware 1.02 by email to me if you don't mind? I guess I really need it 'cause I had the same issue like you had... My email: ndbethy@yahoo.com

Thanks

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

ndbethy-
I have sent the file and instructions that support sent me to your e-mail.  Hopefully Parrot or Apple with fix this issue soon.  Although the 1.02 software does solve the underwater problem -  there is now less noise canceling as the latest Parrot version fixed that significantly.  Guess you can't have it all.
Best of luck to you.

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

We now have software update 1.03a that corrects the audio issues with the iPhone.  You can find that at  parrot.com/downloads

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

Unfortunately the 1.03a update doesn't fix the terrible audio -- perhaps someone should get cracking and fix this! While we all wait with 1.02 that at least the folks on the other side of the call can hear us.

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

Make sure that after you have updated the Parrot to 1.03a that you go into your iPhone, to the SETTINGS, BLUETTOTH and select the 6100 and select to UN-PAIR it.  Then hold down the CENTER button on the iPhone and the very top power button at the same time.   The iPhone will flash the screen that will prompt you to slide to power off.  Do not touch anything, keep holding the button. The iPod will flash with a white apple logo then you can release.  This is the equivalent of Soft Resetting the phone.  This should correct the issue.  We have extensively tested the iPhone with 2.2 and MK6100 with 1.03a and the audio is much improved over the previous software.

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

Its updated to 1.3a and I've reset (unpaired and rebooted the iPhone). It still sounds BAD -- not particularly underwater any longer, but the mid-range is very tinned out and the voice will drop in and out amplitude wise occationally. The majority of the people I call tell me to call back when I'm in better range. That isn't good for business for me... HELP!!!

Re: iPhone sounds like underwater

I have the same problem with my BB 8800
any ideas
thanks
