I'v been using my parrot for years now, pairing it with a nokia 6021 and everything works like a charm.

Recently i have replaced my old phone with a HTC magic and there are some (i'll admit minor) annoyances.

The first is that the synchin of contacts takes forever, about 20 minutes for < 100 contacts while the synchin with the nokia (same contacts) was done in 5 minutes or so.

The second thing i find strange is that contacts that have multiple phonenumbers appear in the parrot as multiple contacts with a "/<type>" added to the name. So if Paul has 2 numbers, home and mobile, they appear as Paul/H and Paul/M with the numbers listed as general. Besides the fact that this results in a much large number of contacts, if the name is long enough the addition of the number type doesn't fit on the display anymore and you have to look in the contact to see if you have the right number.

The third thing is that if someone called me on the nokia phone, I would hear my ringtone from the nokia over the parrot / speakers and the radio was muted all the time. Now it plays some other tune which i don;t recognize, and between every "ring" the radio comes back on, which is very awkward.

I realize all these "things" could be caused by the HTC phone, but I'd still like to hear the reactions over here.

iPhone 3.1 and TomTom app

Hi there,

I'm using an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.
I also have the TomTom application. (*not* a standalone GPS device, the TomTom iPhone application).
I have a brand new SK4000 running v1.15 (according to the sticker on the unit).

The TomTom application only reads instructions over an A2DP (Bluetooth Audio), which is why I purchased the SK4000. It will not read instructions over an HFP (Telephone), etc.

When the SK4000 switches to A2DP, it appears to send the play command to the iPhone. I can understand why this is, it makes sense to automatically start audio playback when you switch to that mode.

However, I don't want that. I want A2DP to open up, and simply start receiving audio without sending the play command. When the TomTom app wants to read an instruction it will.

I have managed with some combination of changing modes and things to be able to switch to Telephone mode and then back to Bluetooth Audio mode without it starting the iPhone music playback. I have a feeling that this only happens if the TomTom app is busy trying to read an instruction when the mode change happens - the play command is ignored by the iPhone. But, I'm only guessing, I'm not completely sure.

I would be happy if I was able to hit pause instead when switching to A2DP mode - it's a bit annoying, but I could live with it. The manual says "Press the [lower/power] key of the control unit to stop playback or press the SOURCE key to get back to the Phone mode.".
However, pushing this key causes the device to switch to Telephone mode. Switching back obviously starts playback again (except when the TomTom app is trying to read instructions).

The iPhone/SK4000 compatibility page (http://www.parrot.com/uk/support/online … mp;etape=3) says "Streaming can be controlled from the SK4000". Now, the iPhone does not support next/prev functions of AVRCP, so I can only assume this means play/pause.

Does anyone else see this behavior?
Is there a pause music function on the SK4000?
Is it possible to disable that automatic play command on the SK4000 when switching to A2DP mode?

Looking at the manual one can either go with the speaker-based or the line-in based install. As far as I understand the latter implies that the car stereo must be in the AUX mode for phone voice to be heard through the speakers (unless MKi is connected to an external amp). On the other hand, conceptually, the speaker-based setup is better as Parrot will use the speakers whenever a call comes in irrespective of the current input selection on the stereo/HU however I don't necessarily like the idea that music will play through Parrot amp for various reasons. Hence the question, is the following possible?

1. Connect both the ISO cables and line out to the car stereo and speakers.
2. Put car stereo in the AUX mode.
3. Music played through Parrot is routed to car stereo's line-in/AUX-in, leaving speakers connected to the car stereo.
4. Hands-free, when activated (incoming/outgoing call), will hijack the speakers sending voice to them directly bypassing car stereo.
